activities in the field of building and building material industry. The ÉMI acronym is derived from the initial letters of the Hungarian company name (ÉMI Építésügyi Minőségellenőrző Innovációs Nonprofit Kft.).
ÉMI Nonprofit Kft. is the legal successor of the Institute for Quality Control in Building (ÉMI) founded in 1963 and the Institute of Building Sciences (ÉTI) and the Non-Profit Company for Housing Innovation in Hungary which became defunct in 2007.
The Company is in 100% state ownership.
The activities of ÉMI Nonprofit Kft. covers the whole country.Besides the headquarters in Budapest there are six regional quality control stations based in six provincial towns. The high quality professional work is supported by a Central Laboratory, including 9 specialist and 6 regional laboratories, located in Budapest, Szentendre and six provincial towns.
ÉMI Nonprofit Kft. collaborates with:
- governmental bodies,
- universities,
- local governments,
- scientific and research institutes in the whole country.
Besides domestic activities ÉMI Nonprofit Kft. also performs foreign job assignments.
The staff members of ÉMI Nonprofit Kft. actively participate in the work of professional organisations, technical and scientific associations and as lecturers they also take part in various professional and university courses.
